MAS90 or MAS200 – Use Visual Integrator to Import Ship To Codes

Via Brett Zimmerman at The Fitzgerald Group.

I’m doing a MAS 90 Customer Ship-To’s import (4.30 SU11) and I’m getting some interesting results related to certain Ship-To Zip Codes.

Scenario 1:  Import Ship-To with a US Zip Code that does not exist in the MAS 90 Zip Code file

The VI Import Log say the Zip Code is not on file, and therefore does not import that Zip Code to the Ship-To but instead uses the Zip Code from the main Customer screen.  Ooof.

Scenario 2:  Import Ship-To with a non-US Zip Code that does not exist in the MAS 90 Zip Code file or on the main Customer screen

Same thing as above.  The VI Import Log say the Zip Code is not on file, and therefore does not import that Zip Code to the Ship-To but instead uses the Zip Code from the main Customer screen.  Ooof again.

Scenario 3:  Import Ship-To with a non-US Zip Code that does not exist in the MAS 90 Zip Code file but does exist on the main Customer screen

Zip Code imports fine to the Ship-To.

So basically it would seem that prior to importing you should first get your non-US Zip Codes into the MAS 90 Zip Code file, as well as resolve any invalid US Zip Codes in your source file.  Otherwise the import could assign incorrect Zip Codes.
