Who Are The 90 Minds?
We are a highly experienced group of Sage consultants who’ve met at various conferences and technical sessions over the past several years. In 2005 we formalized our group into an active email list – trading over 500 messages a month regarding support and marketing issues.
As our membership grew we migrated from an email list to Yahoo Groups. As we grew some more we adopted Socialcast for real time member to member communication.
We also have started a subgroup called OASIS which stands for Open Access Support Is Swell (hey we needed a name quick). This group is open to those who may not yet qualify to be full 90 Minds members – essentially qualified Sage partners and consultants who may not otherwise be qualified for full 90 Minds membership due to geographic or competitive concerns. Learn more about OASIS here. In order to join OASIS you would not need to be a full 90 Minds member.
There is an initiation fee – this is not a free group (check the Sage Communities for a great free resource). We’ll provide you with the cost information after we review your information.
In short the differences between 90 Minds (full) membership and OASIS:
90 Minds Membership = Full Socialcast + Web Listing + Meetings and Training
OASIS Membership = Select Socialcast technical groups – primarily Sage 100 ERP (aka MAS90 and MAS200)
Our members are among the most active in areas such as LinkedIn or the Sage technical communities.
They generally have from 1 to 10 employees — though several have 20 or more employees with multiple offices.
Most of the 90 Minds members have at least 5 years of recent experience though many have 20 or more years of recent experience with Sage products. Several of our members are active on Sage advisory boards.
90 Minds members share one common trait. They are actively involved in providing assistance to other 90 Minds members.
Are we looking for new members?
Always.
Are we looking just to increase the number of members without regard to how often they contribute?
No.
We’re constantly on the lookout for experienced members who will actively participate in our group.
(Tip: This means regularly sharing and commenting on information that’s within their expertise – whether it’s technical, business or industry related.)
We seek:
- active and experienced members who typically are
- Sage Consultants or Business Partners with
- excellent reputations and
- five or more years of RECENT experience and
- are not geographically (either main or remote offices) competitive to existing members
(Tip: Experienced = recent = you’ve used the most current version of a Sage product and not a version that’s 10 years old and obsolete)
While we have one or two end users as member – we no longer admit end users.
Offering products other than Sage is fine. However if you’re not affiliated at all with ANY Sage products then please explain how you’d contribute to the group.
Our members share a lot. So if you’re really close (geographically) to an existing member (here’s our roster – take a look) it’s unlikely we’re going to be looking to add another in that area. This includes if you’re affiliated with a larger company and have a branch office located near an existing member.
We’re looking for active participants. Emphasis on active.
Let us be totally candid with you.
If you’ve joined other groups where you mostly read messages and never replied, weren’t sure what to talk about or felt intimidated about speaking up and contributing to a group – this probably isn’t for you.
If you’re presently on LinkedIn or the Sage Community and you’ve rarely posted – this group is probably not for you.
We’d rather be completely honest and up front than admit a prospective member and then have to invite them to leave because they haven’t participated in the group.
What’s The Difference Between 90 Minds and OASIS?
90 Minds membership is granted to individuals. Typically this membership is allowed only after serving at least a year as an OASIS member. The membership is usually geographically protected – though not always.
OASIS members are individuals who collaborate alongside our members but don’t have access to some of the private sales and marketing groups. The OASIS members also don’t typically attend web and on-site collaborative events reserved for full 90 Minds members.
What are the benefits of becoming a full member of 90 Minds Consulting Group?
- Access to our closed Socialcast group (24 x 7 member sharing of technical issues, news, tips, business ideas)
- Shared resources with a membership of 27 independent companies, over 415 employees and 17 states.
- Listing and link on our web site
- Ability to blog and post technical articles on our 90Minds site which link back to your company
- Participation in private member webinars
- Participation in other private gatherings at conferences
- Advance information about new Sage products, announcements and rumors
- Learn of news and technical information ahead of most other consultants
- Share referrals with other consultants you know and trust (referrals, third party product recommendations, sub-contracting)
- A source of second opinons for technical and new sales that is second to none in the Sage channel
How do you become a full member of 90 Minds Consulting Group?
First you’ll start as an OASIS member. Consider this like a trial membership to see how we like collaborate with other.
Active OASIS members who also do not geographically conflict with another 90 Minds member can then be considered for full 90 Minds membership (typically – though not always – after a year of actively collaborating)
