I find this useful for identifying the path that a shortcut is pointing too.
You can also re-organize the order in which links display on the menu by changing their order in the .ini file.

This is how it was done when MAS90 3.00 first came out. I never realized it was still managed the same way until today

I don’t know/recall how SageCRM uses licenses. Client has MAS90 EES 1.3 (the 90 version, not 200). They are just starting to use CRM, and notice that they have 1 less available user license. They wonder if CRM uses one up.

Also, in (MAS90) Master Console, they see about 50 SageCRM users logged in, which doesn’t seem normal either. They only have 5 users. It sounds like sessions are not terminating normally.

Any ideas?

Barbara,

Because it is a web application, SageCRM is notorious for people not logging out correctly (people typically just shut their browser or close down their PC without clicking logout).

You should be able to tell their true CRM license count by going to

Administration > System > System Behavior and looking in the bottom panel “License Key Information”.

The thing is… the EES CRM licenses are kind of screwy. That’s my technical assessment of the situation anyway. The numbers don’t always reflect the real situation and I wonder if users logging in via the MAS environment circumvent licensing somehow. (I am looking at a client install right this second with 10 CRM licenses, the screen says they have 11 Max users, 14 Active users and -3 seats available)

If you want a second set of eyes, feel free to give me a call or email and I can put you in touch with one of my engineers.

As an aside, we typically recommend that partners recommend pulling up CRM separately, directly in a browser window. There is a lot more screen real estate and the interface runs a lot smoother that way. If your client isn’t doing so, you might want to recommend that approach to them on a go-forward basis.

Good luck – I hope that helped!

Update – Jim Woodhead of DSD Business Systems found some more information and shares it here:

Logged into MAS only = 1 MAS License in use = 1 Total EES User License
Logged into MAS and launching SageCRM = 1 SageCRM License in use + 1 MAS License in use ? 1 MAS users from SageCRM = 1 Total EES User License
Logged into SageCRM without a MAS task open = 1 SageCRM License in use = 1 Total EES User License
Logged into SageCRM with a MAS task open = 1 SageCRM License in use + 1 MAS License in use ? 1MAS users from SageCRM = 1 Total EES User License

Unlinked user login:
Logged into MAS = 1 MAS user license in use = 1 total EES User License
Logged into SageCRM = 1 SageCRM license in use = 1 total EES User License

Basically, what this says is:
If you have a CRM user ID called John and you do NOT relate this ID to a MAS user / Salesperson, then you would use 2 licenses when this user logs in to CRM and at the same time to MAS.
If you relate John to a MAS user/sales person using “salesperson user mapping” then the same scenario would cost only one license.

Just last week I had a client who migrated from Sage MAS 90 to Sage Extended Enterprise (EES) for MAS 90. This upgrade involve installed the EES disks to an entirely new location on their server as well as importing all their old data.

Since they had been using the Paperless Office feature of MAS 90 to print their journals and registers to PDF files which are then stored on their network I had to take care to also move those paperless documents. My preference has always been to store all MAS 90 related data inside the \mas90 folder. This makes backups quick because you simply drag the \mas90 folder and all contentents to the backup. Unfortunately when upgrading and swapping directories you also need to make sure everything stored within the folder transfers as well.

During the upgrade to EES there is only a transfer of MAS 90 (or MAS 200) data. The paperless files and folders don’t migrate to a new location. If you want to move them you must do so manually.

In order to make the move you must follow some specific directions. Copying and pasting the PDF files won’t work as the only step because the path to those files is embedded inside some MAS 90 control files.

Here are detailed instructions on moving Paperless Office for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200
